Each of the 12 tables were decorated for a certain month of the year. Each table furnished entertainment, which consisted of musical instruments, singing, poems and readings. The oldest member present was Mrs. Elsie Singer. Carolyn Becker was the youngest present. Mrs. Grace Stern served as chairman. Ms. Goldie Groff was in charge of the program. Mrs. Edith Longenecker, president, conducted a brief business session. A donation of $2O was given to the United Way. It was an nounced that membership dues will be collected at the next meeting. An election of officers will be held. Devotions were led by Mrs. Emma Ruth Peifer. The next meeting will be a tour to the Medical Center and Founders Hall in Hershey on October 27. Meet at the parking lot at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim, at 1:30 p.m. Society 6 Farm Women Society 6 ap proved a $lOO donation to Good Will Industries and a $2O donation to United Way during a recent meeting at West Green Tree Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Anna Geyer was elected president of the group. Those elected to serve with her include Katie Brandt, vice-president; Muriel Saylor, corresponding secretary and Miriam Heisey, treasurer. They are: Mrs. Paul Brubaker, recording secretary; Mrs. Homer Geib, corresponding secretary, and Mrs. Richard Kreider, treasurer. A $5O donation was approved for the Welsh Mountain Clinic. Plans were announced for the annual County Convention to be held November 3 at Lancaster Bible College. Speaker for the event is Mrs. Mark Hatfield. Society 26 will have a table of Christmas items and crafts at the Homemakers Christmas Day at the Farm and Home Center on November 15. This will take place of the regular monthly meeting.
