Developed in cooperation with Dairy Research Inc. (DRINC), the producer-financed product and market development - organization, “Moo Munchies” are manufactured by Superior Protein Products Co., of Gar dena, California. An “all natural high protein snack,” the new product is made by a special process that avoids cooking, baking and frying. The crisp snacks are low in fat, contain no starch, additives or preservativesrbut have all the benefits of milk protein nutrition. Originally tested in Los Angeles area health stores, “Moo Munchies” are now being marketed in new colorful one and three ounce cellophane packages. Amend the four available flavors, toasted onion and herb butter are the most popular. Nutritional labeling on the package indicates that a single ounce provides 38 percent of minimum daily requirement for calcium, 30 percent for phosphorus, 36 percent for riboflavin and 8 percent for thiamine.
