Milk Protein
Snack Gets
National
Distribution
“Moo Munchies,” a high
protein snack made from nonfat
dry milk and dry whey, is moving
into national distribution in
health food stores following in
troduction at the National
Nutritional Foods Association
meeting in San Diego.
Developed in cooperation with
Dairy Research Inc. (DRINC),
the producer-financed product
and market development
- organization, “Moo Munchies”
are manufactured by Superior
Protein Products Co., of Gar
dena, California.
An “all natural high protein
snack,” the new product is made
by a special process that avoids
cooking, baking and frying. The
crisp snacks are low in fat,
contain no starch, additives or
preservativesrbut have all the
benefits of milk protein nutrition.
Originally tested in Los
Angeles area health stores, “Moo
Munchies” are now being
marketed in new colorful one and
three ounce cellophane packages.
Amend the four available flavors,
toasted onion and herb butter are
the most popular.
Nutritional labeling on the
package indicates that a single
ounce provides 38 percent of
minimum daily requirement for
calcium, 30 percent for
phosphorus, 36 percent for
riboflavin and 8 percent for
thiamine.
The new packages were
displayed by DRINC at the
September 17-18 meeting of
United Dairy Industry
Association at the Hyatt Regency
O’Hare in Chicago.

lowing these two simple rules.
First learn all you can about
your appliance. The owner’s
manual is your textbook, read it
carefully and keep it handy, the
salesman and service technician
are your teachers. Ask
questions

items before you call a tech
nician.
1 Electric cord Is it plugged

2. Pilot light. Is it lit? Check
your owner’s manual before
trying to light it.
3. Power source. Has a fuse
blown or a circuit breaker moved
to the off position?
4 Controls Are they set cor
rectly? Be positive by checking
your owner’s manual. Give
pushbuttons an extra firm push
and turn dials in the proper
direction.
5 Rights If not on, check the
powei source. If the bulb’s
burned out, your owner’s man
ual will tell you the type of bulb
needed for replacement.
6 Dust, lint and dirt buildup.
