Bio-gas Device
To be Seen at
Ag Progress
The methane gas generator
which was designed and built by
two members of the en
vironmental committee for Ag
Progress Days, had its initial
showing last week at the Lebanon
Area Fair.
Several hundred people had an
opportunity to inspect the device
at close hand and witness the
operation of a mantle lamp, gas
cooking stove and a garden
tractor, all of which can ef
fectively use the methane gas.
Methane is a product of microbial
decomposition of organic waste
material, under anaerobic
conditions.
The generator, built by
Lebanon County Agent Glenn
Miller and Assistant County
Agent Newton Bair, will be
exhibited at Hershey on August
28 - 30, and practical demon
strations of bio-gas use may be
seen at that time.
