A student at Hempfield High School where she sings in the chorus, she has been in 4-H for six years. Second place in the talent competition was captured by Phyllis Kreamer who played a coronet solo accompanied with piano. Third place was an amusing monologue delivered by Shirley Herr. The final event of the day was choosing a Junior and a Senior Queen. There were five con testants in each category. Marcy Bomberger, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bomberger, Elm, was crowned Senior 4-H Queen. Cindy Charles, ( 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' Wilbur Charles, Mount Joy, was named Junior Queen in the junior competition. Miss Bomberger, a top winner in the 4-H Lancaster County Dress Revue for two years, is a member of the Penryn-Elm 4-H Club. She was asked, “What did yoa encounter in 4-H?” She is a student at Manheim Central High School. Miss Charles is a third-year sewing member of the Mount Joy 4-H Club. The five junior and five senior finalists were judged on ap pearance, speaking ability, poise and personality. Other can didates in the senior division were Mary Hale, 591 Valley View Drive, New Holland, Garden Spot Club; Geraldine Kauffman, Columbia RDI, Mount Joy Club; Linda Kauffman, Elizabethtown RDI, Holstein Club, and Barbara Kenyon, 1818 Northbrook Drive, Lancaster, Boots and Saddles Club. Junior finalists were Liz Abel, Quarryville, Rough Riders Club; Marty Burkins, Holtwood RDI, Red Rose Baby Beef Club; Dawn Greider, Mount Joy, Boots and Saddles Club, and Dawn Webb, Manheim RD3, Penryn-Elm Club. Preparing the recipe took two and one-half hours of preparation before the show, but the time was well spent as she placed the highest ever in her seven years of 4-H work. In tractor driving the object is to avoid making mistakes, because points are added for each goof. Thus a low score is needed to win. Second in the FFA battle was Jeff Heisey.
