Rust can be removed but it
is an easier condition to pre
vent. Remember that iron
will corrode where aluminum
will not. Items that rust easily
should be inspected often.
Inspect house gutters fre
quently and look for yellow
stains and where there are
joints and edges. Scrape clean
at the first sign and paint with
rust preventative paint.
If rusting is a regular prob
lem, check to see that galvan
ized nails were used for gal
vanized gutters and down
spouts and aluminum nails for
those made of aluminum.
Never mix metals.
