Hershey School Pernio. Plowing The Milton Hershey School Farms have been selected as the site of the 1973 State Plowing Contest, according to Max Smith, Lancaster County Agricultural Agent. He said the plowing matches will be held August 28 and 29 as part of the 1973 Agricultural Progress Days scheduled for August 28-29-30 at Hershey. The contour and small plow, level land divisions will be held August 28 beginning at 10 a.m. The large plow, level land division is scheduled for August 29, also at 10 a.m. Smith points out that all con testants must be declared win ners of county eliminations prior to entering state competition. Twenty-six plowmen competed for awards at the 1972 event held in Somerset County. The matches are under the direction of the State Plowing Contest Committee. G to Host Contest Lancaster County Farmers Picnic The Lancaster County Far mers Association will hold its annual picnic on July 28 at the Lampeter Fair Grounds.
