Members and their families were entertained at a picnic. A short business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Clarence Stauffer The following com mittees were named: Program - Mrs. Ivan Eberly, Mrs. Harry Lesner, Mrs. Harvey Geliman, Mrs. Kenneth Zimmerman, Mrs Ronald Meek, and Mrs. Earl Stauffer, Nominating - Mrs. Eberly and Mrs. Harold E. Stuber. The group will conduct a food stand at the Ephrata Fair Sept. 25-29. On August 4, members and children will spend a day in Ocean City, New Jersey. They will leave by bus from Salem Lutheran Church, Ephrata, at 6:00 a.m. At the next meeting local 4-H Clubs will be entertained at a covered dish lunch at Shady Grove Park along Rt. 897 near Schwartzville. Society 12 Farm Women Society 12 had a touring day on June 13th for their meeting. They toured Cramer’s Ceramics at Marticville and Rock Ford. A delightful luncheon was enjoyed at Willow Valley Restaurant. The annuall picnic was held on July 10 at Safe Harbor Park. Twenty-one people attended. The meal consisted of a covered dish supper. The group voted to donate $50.00 to the Welsh Mt. Clinic, the County Project for 1973. The next meeting will be held Sept. 15 at the home of Mrs. Willis Click, Bender Rd., Millersville RDI. Mrs. Frank Metzger will be co-hostess. A miscellaneous auction sale will be held and also the ingathering for needlework guild. Society 13 Farm Women Society 13 is planning a bus trip to Ocean City, New Jersey on July 21. Those interested in participating should contact Mrs. Isaac Koser, 403 E. Clay St., Lancaster. The group also announced that the location for its family picnic has been changed to Ronks Fire Hall. Each family is asked to bring one hot and one cold dish for the evening meal for the picnic on August 8 at 6:00 p.m. Society 14 Farm Women t jciety 14 held a family covered dish picnic recently at the William S. Tinney Memorial Pavilion, Strasburg.* Program for the evening was special music by Melvin Hollinger from Strasburg. Speaker was Martin K. Brown, from Lancaster. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Edith A. Metzler, Mrs. Robert Esben shade, Mrs. Laveme Mylin, Mrs. Ira Rutt, Mrs. John Groff. The August meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Melvin Stoltzfus, Ronks RDI on Wed nesday, August 8, at 1:30 P.M. The program for the afternoon is The Story of Quilt Making by Mrs. Norman Hess. The guests we will entertain for the day will be Society 29. August is the month to pay dues. Members please bring your dues in an envelope. Society 19 Farm Women Society 19, held their annual family picnic recently at the pavillion of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, Lititz, Pa. Society 25 Farm Women Society 25 met Saturday, July 14, on the lawn of Mrs. John Metz, Conestoga, RDI with 18 members present. Wedding pictures were shown by each member present. Mrs. Jacob Boose received the gift of the month. Announcement was made of the Home Makers Club meeting at Camp Swatara August 26 to 28, at which time Crafts, Recreation, Speakers and Devotional Services will be presented. The theme is “Being - Thankful”. Members decided to have a Bake Sale in October at the Southern Market, Lancaster. Old sheets will be needed to make up Cancer Pads for November meeting. Mrs. Sterling Elmer gave a talk on “Safety” and safety hints were given by members. Mrs. Sterling Elmer presented a contest for the members to make a Safety Poster (12x18) for the September meeting. Posters will be judged and cash awards given. The September meeting will be the Anniversary Banquet at the Highville Fire Hall at 6:30 p.m. September 8. The program will be the Senior Citizens Band from Lititz. Society 29 Farm Women Society 29 met on July 15 with their husbands and children at the home of Mrs. Clayton Ranch, RDI, Marietta for a covered dish dinner and splash party. Beverage was supplied by the hostess and the co-hostess Mrs. Wayne Seaman. After a game of volleyball, the group enjoyed several hours in the pool. There will be no scheduled meeting for Society 29 in August.
