The Club voted in favor of designing a window display at the Manheim Fair this fall. A committee was appointed to plan this event. J. Warren Heisey, Club leader, commented on the members projects. Barb Myer gave a report on the upcoming events of Lancaster 4-H County Council. Following the business session the members sang, played games and were served refreshments. The next meeting will be held July 19 at the home of Jennifer Shadt, Marietta. News Reporter Clashing Thimbles Meet The fourth meeting of the Penn Manor 4-H Clashing Thimbles Club was called to order by the vice-president, Linda Sickman. The members repeated the 4-H Pledge and Pledge to the Flag. The treasurers report was given. New business was how the treasury money should be used. No one had any ideas, so it will be discussed again at the next meeting. A clean-up committee of Linda Sickman and Carol Potter was appointed. The meeting was adjourned and a work period followed. Silver Spurs Club Holds Horse Show The Silver Spurs 4-H Horse and Pony Club held its annual Club Grooming and Showmanship Horse Show on Tuesday, June 26, at Click’s Trailer Shop in Bareville. The Junior division (under 14 years old) was judged at 7 p.m. with the Senior division (14 to 19 years old) following at 8 p.m. Results of the Junior division were: Jim Click, first; Cherri Gochnauer, second; David Kolb, third; Roberta Stein, fourth; Bonnie Kolb, fifth, and Richard Barb Myer Kolb, sixth. Senior division results; Randy Click, first; Lori May, second; Coleen Kolb, third; Sandy Kolb, fourth; Randy Kolb, fifth; Donna Rohrer, sixth; Patti Nauman, seventh, and Priscilla Geyer, eighth. John Shenk discussed the possibility of having a paper collection drive on some major roads. A committee was set up to work on the ideas. Allen Mays gave a demon stration-on collecting of insects. Barry Boyd gave a talk on ceramics. Refreshments of home made ice cream and strawberries were served by the leaders of the club.
