Boots and Saddles Club
Roundup Representatives
The Boots and Saddles 4-H
Horse and Pony Club held a trail
ride for its members recently. A
meeting was held Saturday night
around a campfire.
The gymkhana, to count for the
County Roundup, was held at the (
Columbia Riding Club grounds.
The classes held were placed, as
follows, by Jim Hmerdeer. The
balance of the classes had to be
cancelled because of rain. The
first five places of the Grooming
and Showmanship classes will
represent the Club at County.

The average egg producer has
20,000 to 50,000 hens per farm;
several large integrated
producers have one million or
more hens on a farm.

The next meeting will be a
swim party at Diane Reese’s
home July 19.

2 Attend 4-H Congress
From Penn Manor Club
Twenty-two members attended
the Penn-Manor Community Club
4-H meeting on June 26 at the
home of Jay Stauffer. Due to the
absence of the president, vice
president Jay Stauffer conducted
the meeting.
Carl Thomas and Karen
Greider attended the 4-H
Leadership Congress at Penn
State June 25-28.
Two club members are hosting
Michigan 4-H club members.
James Stauffer presented two
selections on the violin.
4-H leaders John Thomas and
John Groff explained details on
Demonstration Day and en
couraged club members to work
on their projects for 4-H
Achievement Day, August 16.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Robert Musser,
Doner Road, at 7:30 p.m. July 31.
A softball game is being planned.
