Local Grain
Thursday, June 21
These prices are' made up of the
average prices quoted by five
participating local feed and grain
concerns. It should be noted,
however, that not every dealer
handles each commodity. All
prices are per bushel except for
ear corn which is per ton.
The average local grain prices
quoted Thursday, June 21, 1973,
are as follows:
' Bid+ Offered-)-
Ear Corn 56.00 62 23
Shelled Corn 2.52 2.74
Oats, Local .91 1.12
Oats, Western 1.30 1.42
Barley 1.57 1.80
Wheat 2.47 2.72
+Bid is the price the dealer
will buy from the farmer
delivered to the mill. Offered is
the price the dealer will sell for at
his mill
Fix-It Tip
Do not mow wet, slippery
grass. Do not run—walk. Do
not pull the mower toward
you. Do not leave the mower
running if you have to step
away for a moment. Mow
horizontally across a slope,
never up and down.
Most safety precautions
make good maintenance
tips. Keep all nuts and bolts
tight. Check blade mounting
nut for tightness making
sure the spark plug is dis
connected first.
Check oil level and change
oil at recommended inter
vals. Remove blades and
sharpen with a file. File
evenly and keep the blade
balanced. A dull and rough
blade will leave the grass
brown
