Forty-five members and guests attended. Roll call was answered by an introduction of the guests. Mrs. Daniel Brubaker was song leader and devotions were presented by Mrs. Henry Shreiner. Mrs, Paul Kurtz, president, presided at the meeting. It was voted to give $lO to the Easter Seal Campaign. The following members will sew at the General Hospital on Apr. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Mrs Noah Kreider, Mrs. Elmer Hershey, Mrs. John Newcomer, Mrs. Joseph Russell, Mrs Martin Moore and Mrs. J. Clayton Sangrey. A bus trip has been planned to the Flemmgton Glass Factory and Duke Gardens in New Jer sey. The bus will leave the Lutheran Parking lot at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2 and will also stop at the Cloister Shopping Center at 7 a m A fee of $7 is required and in cludes the trip and entrance to the Gardens. Persons interested in going on the trip should contact Mrs David Brubaker, 733-7425. Call 626-5691 It was announced that the State Farm Rally will be held Wed nesday, May 16 at the Johnstown Memorial Building in Cambria Women planning to attend should notify Mrs. Kurtz A Mother-Daughter Banquet will be held at 6:15 p.m. Friday, May 11 at the Brunnerville Fire Hall Mrs Charles Adams will speak on the subject of “Dolls ” Mrs Leon Ulrich will present the devotions. >rll 14. 1973 Society 6 Farm Women Society 6 voted to donate $5O to the Northwest Lancaster County Medical Center at a recent meeting. Dr. Clair Weaver was the guest speaker at the meeting, which was held at the home of Mrs. Harry Shonk, Manheitn, R.D.4. The Society announced it is planning a bus trip on May 5 to Winterthur and Brandywine Museum. Activities held recently in cluded 12 members going to the State Hospital in Harrisburg -to sew and eight of the members gathering at the home of Mrs. Shonk to make bedpads for the Dunkard Brethren home. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Martin Hoffer, Sadie Reighard, Margaret Bowers and Vera Shonk Society 20 Farm Women Society 20 en tertained Societies 4 and 15 and County Officers at a covered dish dinner at the Quarryville Methodist Church Thursday, April 5. Mrs. Joseph Best, president, opened the business meeting. The Society members and guests answered roll call by telling what foreign country they would like to visit. Robert Fite was the recipient of the FFA plaque the Society gives an outstanding FFA student at Solanco. The Society will be entertained by Society 5 May 19 at East Petersburg. The County Project this year will be the Welsh Mountain Medical Center. The speaker for the day was Mrs. Ivan Leaman, Strasburg, who spoke and showed slides of Samolia where she and her husband and family spent eight years. Dr. Leaman had charge of a hospital there. The Society will entertain their Mothers at a luncheon on May 3 at Kreiders. Following the lun cheon, they will visit the Robert Fulton House. Society 22 Farm Women Society 22 met Tuesday, April 10, at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Hoover, 3290 Bnarwood Blvd., Lancaster, for a workshop, Mrs. Lester Landis served as cohostess. Mrs. Robert Houser demonstrated making belts from upholstery webbing and braid. Mrs. Jay Landis, president, conducted a business meeting prior to the workshop. Mrs. George Stememan was installed and welcomed into the Society as a new member. A donation of $25 was made to the Water Street Rescue Mission. A letter from the Mission ex plaining their purposes and accomplishments was read by Mrs, Henry Hess. Society 22 will have cookbooks L a available for sale at the Farm and Home Center May 2 when the Homemakers Club from Michigan will be entertained. Eleven members plan to attend the Spring Rally in Johnstown May 15 and 16, spending the night at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown. The Society wishes a speedy recovery to Mrs. William Weller who recently underwent an ap pendectomy at the Lancaster General Hospital.
