Drive give a slide-illustrated talk
on weathervanes at the decent
meeting.
Also included in the meeting
was a miscellaneous auction.
Devotions were led by Mrs. Carl
Seigrist.
Society 4 will be guests of
Society 20 at a luncheon on
Thursday, April 5, at' the
QuarryviUe Methodist Chruch,
The Society will take a bus trip
to the Apple Blossom Festival on
Sunday, May 6. Members will
leave from Farmdale School at 9
a.m.
The next meeting of Society 4
will be held in East Petersburg
with Mrs. John Gingrich and
Mrs. Landis Huber as hostesses.
Society 5
Farm Women Society 5 met at
the East Petersburg Brethren
Church with Mrs. Amos Eisen
berg of Strasburg hostess.
Devotions were conducted by
Mrs. Charles Forney.
The meeting was in charge of
' Mrs. J.- G. Longenecker,
president. Donations of $lO were
given to the Cancer Society and to
the Easter Seal Society.
Plans were made for
homemade chicken corn soup
and baked goods to be sold at a
food stand at Longenecker’s
Hardware Store entrance at the
Manheim Shopping Center after 9
a.m. Saturday, March 31.
All members who celebrated
birthdays in February and March
were recognized.
The Society will sew at Lan
caster General Hosnital April 9.
Society 5 was invited by Society
21 to a meeting meeting at 7:30
p.m. April 21 at the Memorial
United Methodist Church,
Quarryville.
Picture slides of England were
shown by Goldie Groff who went
on a trip last June.
The next meeting will be held
April 28 at the home of Mrs.
Raymond Hess, Landisville.
Society 12
Farm Women Society 12 held
its regular monthly meeting
recently at the home of Mrs.
Blanche Wissler, Millersville.
Mrs. Bertha Aston served as co
hostess.
The program for the day was
“Show and Tell.”
Bed pads made by Society 12
members will be donated to
Conestoga View, it was an
nounced by Mrs. John Sangrey,
secretary. Also, the Society will
donate $lO to the cancer fund.
Arrangements have been made
to sponsor a bus trip, May 5 to
Hagley’s Museum and Win
terthur Gardens. Interested
persons may obtain further in
formation by contacting Mrs.
Ethel Kendig, Wabank Road,
Millersville.

hostess.
The next meeting of the group
will be held on April 26 at the
home of Mrs. Jacob Bare, Bird
in-Hand. A yeast-baking
demonstration will be given.

Farm Women Society 30 ap
proved a $lO donation to the
Easter Seal Society during a
recent meeting.
The next meeting of the group
will be held on April 16 at 7:30
p.m. Hostess will be Mrs. Reuben
Zeist. Each member is asked to
bring an item for an auction.
Auctioneer will be Mrs. Donald
Horning.
Annual Antique Show in May
The Lancaster County Farm
and Home Foundation announced
that 35 nationally known antique
dealers will be displaying an
outstanding collection of early
American antiques at the
Foundation’s annual Lancaster
Heritage Antiques Show
scheduled to be held May 10, 11,
12 and 13 at the Farm and Home
Center building.
The show, slated to begin with a
preview showing Thursday
evening. May 10,7 to 10 p.m., will
feature early American antiques
and collectibles with a strong
emphasis on Lancaster County
and Pennsylvania items. Ac
cording to show spokesmen, the
Heritage - Antiques Show is

rapidly gaining the reputation as
one of the finest exhibits of early
Americana in the United States.
Dealers, from as far away as
lowa and Maine, will be
displaying a wide selection of
period furniture, fine porcelains
and china, silver, early
glassware, pewter, quilts,
firearms, clocks, nautical items
and many other unique antiques
from the country’s past. Many of
the exhibits will be set up in
authentic early American room
settings.
Other attractions scheduled for
the show include quilting
demonstrations and the
technique of early tinware
decorating
