Eby and Kathryn Hershey, Gordonville will be one of the featured donations to the Lan caster Mennonite High School fund raising benefit auction to be held Thursday evening, March 29 at 6:00p.m. on the school campus east of Lancaster. Maple Drift Select Heidi, a granddaughter of Osborndale Ivanhoe sired by Winterthur Ivanhoe Eden Select is from Maple Drift General Lena with records to 14,029 of milk, 3.9 percent test and 555 pounds of butterfat. “We donated the calf because we appreciate the dedication of the students at LMH to their school,” Herhsey said, “and we wanted to help them along in their efforts.” An anonymous friend of the school has agreed to match the funds brought in by the total sale. In addition to the sale, the students will be conducting their annual work drive Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31. Students hire themselves out to work for individuals and businesses in the community and a car wash is conducted at the school. A barbecue will be also held Saturday at the school March 31. The money raised from the auction and the work projects will be put towards the school building program which has already started with the demolition of the old boys’ dorm and the relocating of the home ec department into the basement of the existing girls’ dorm this summer.
