Mrs. Elmer Hershey gave the invocation. Roll call was an swered by members telling about a trip they most enjoyed. Mrs. Paul Kurtz, president, conducted a short business meeting. The women cast their vote to aid the Welsh Mountain Clinic as a project. The following events were announced: Ladies Seminar at Hilton Inn. Lancaster, April 3 and 4; bus trip June 2 to Flemington and Duke Gardens, and State Farm Women’s Rally, May 14 in Cambria County. A bus to the event will leave from Mount Joy. On May 2, a homemakers club will be visitng in the area. Hostesses are needed to keep the women overnight Anyone in terested may contact Mrs. Kurtz by April 1. Society members were asked to write to CBS Network, 51W. 52nd St, New York, N Y to oppose X rated movies proposed for TV. Entertainment for the evening was presented by Jacob Towes and daughter. Peggy. They showed slides on a trip around the world Society 1 will entertain Society 16 at a Covered dish luncheon at 1230 pm Saturday, Apr 7 at the 1/ititz reation Center. Society 9 Farm Women Society 9 saw Mrs. John N Hess, Mountville, past County president of the Society of Farm Women of Lancaster County, display more than 100 original design decorated eggs at a meeting of the Society held in the home of Mrs David Eshbach, 452 Herr Ave , Millersville. Mrs. Hess showed eggs from the tiniest wren’s egg inside a quail egg to a large ostrich egg which was imported from Africa, a gift from her husband and son. She also displayed an unusual orau egg which is a natural dark green which Mrs. Hess lined with _ velvet and hinged and finished with a figurine ,Mrs Hess has a large collec tion of goose eggs from geese raised by her. She has shadow boxes, jewel boxes, tureens, chariots, all done with intricate detail to form an elegant decoration to be used as a cen terpiece. a what-not or to be hung on an egg tree. Mrs. Hess also gave simple directions for the novice to practice on. During the business portion of the meeting gifts were pledged to Raster Seals and Retarded Children. It was reported by Mrs. Paul Zercher, president, that 61 bed pads were made for the Red Cross at the March 1 special work meeting. Plans were set for a shopping trip by bus to the Reading area visiting shopping centers and factory outlets including a famous manufacturer of rain wear The group will depart from Lancaster by CTC. A limited number of seats will be available to non-members on a first-come basis at $5 each. Mrs. J. Edward Bree Brenneman, 914 Penn Grant Road (464-2230) is in charge of the excursion. Assisting Mrs. Eshbach at the March meeting was Mrs. Floyd Kline and Mrs. Kenneth- Eshelman. Mrs. C. Gieger Sherts was in charge of devotions. The April meeting will be held April 12 at the home of Mrs. Oram Hagen, Holtwood RD2, assisted by Mrs. Marguerite Kreider and Mrs. George Brinley Mrs. Eli Harnish will be in charge of devotions. A white elephant sale is planned. Society 10 Farm Women Society 10 members met recently at the home of Mrs. Jay Habecker, 2401 Spring Valley Road. Mrs. John Herr, daughter of Mrs. Habecker. displayed her collection of decorated eggs and fold members how she creates an ogg design. Mrs. Herr also gave simple instructions that members could follow if they were interested in doing the hobby themselves. During the business portion of the meeting Miss Ida Kunkle, president, encouraged members to make reservations early for the Spring Rally of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania to be held May 16 in Johnstown Memorial Building.
