and he’s dealt with them suc
cessfully. It’s time for new
challenges, and he feels he’s
found them in private industry.
He’s not a farmer who’s giving
up. he’s a man who’s moving on.
Agriculture has been good to
Armstrong, but he’s made up his
mind that it’s time for a change.
And when Robert Armstrong
makes up his mind
Both Armstrong and his wife of
11 years are 1958 graduates of
Solanco High School.
He is a member of the Fulton
Grange, and once served as
Master. He has also held offices
in the Lancaster County Swine
Club. Mrs. Armstrong is a
graduate of a business college in
Minneapolis. Both Armstrongs
are serious cat fanciers, and they
have five Persians which are
entered in cat shows throughout
the area. Both belong to the
Lancaster County Feline Society,
of which Robert is vice-president.
Other Meeting Highlights
In addition to the award for the
Armstrongs, the Conservation
District also recognized Donald
U. Bruckhart for his
achievements this past year as a
conservation contractor.

Pennsylvania’s outstanding
contractor in January, then
received the top prize in a
national competition just a few
weeks ago in New Orleans.
Bruckhart’s wife, Nancy, is the
secretary for the district.,
Bruckhart, incidentally, was
the contractor for the Armstrong
farm mentioned above.
