Local Grain
Thursday, February 1
These prices are made up of the
average prices quoted by five
participating local feed and grain
concerns. It should be noted,
however, that not every dealer
handles each commodity. All
prices are per bushel, excejpt for
ear corn which is per ton.
The average local grain prices
quoted Thursday, February 1,
1973 are as follows
Bid+
Offered+
Ear Corn 43 50
Shelled Cora 1.74 1.95
Oats, Local .90 1.23
Oats, Western 1.25 1.37
Barley 1.36 1.58
Wheat 2.21 2.45
-1-Bid is the price the dealer
will buy from the farmer
delivered to the mill. Offered is
the price the dealer will sell for at
his mill.
New York
Dressed Meats
Thursday, February 1
Compared with Wednesday,
prices for steer and heifer beef
steady to weak. Veal and calf
fully steady, lamb weak to a
dollar lower, pork loins around $3
lower, picnics, butts, and
spareribs steady, hams 50c
lower.
Demand generally poor for
fresh meats with purchases by
retail outlets apparently held to
essential requirements. Fairly
liberal representation of box
fabricated beef cuts on hand at
retail levels while pork cuts of
local origin getting first call.
Lamb movement disappointingly
slow while good lower grade veal
and calf moving readily.
