Meetings for the second
quarter of the 1973 season for
Society of Farm Women 4 will be
held at the home of Mrs. John

Gingrich, East Petersburg on
April 28 when the Gene Swords
family will present a musical
program. Mrs. Harold Miller will
lead devotions. Mrs. Landis L.
Huber will be co-hostess.
Small appliances will be
demonstrated by Mrs. Ruth
Marsh, home economist in the
Penn Manor Schools, on May 26
at a meeting held in the home of
Mrs. Alvin Musser, Columbia R 2.
Mrs. A. R. Sheaffer will be co
hostess and Mrs. Charles
Newcomer will be in charge of
the devotional presentation.
Society of Farm Women 19 will
be guests of Society 4 at a lun
cheon meeting at 12:30 on June 23
at the Mountville Brethren
Church. Phyllis T Ballinger will
present “For When Dinner Was

Served”, a program on the eating
customs of our ancestors. Mrs.
Paul Metzger will lead devotions.
Summer programs include a
family picnic at the Salunga
Pavilion on July 28 at 6-30 p.m.; a
special activity to be announced
for August and a night for the
husbands on September 22 at the
Harvest Drive Farm Motel and
Restaurant, Gordonville R 1 A
program by Opera Workshop
members will be featured.
Richard S King will lead the
Invocation
A surprise program is planned
for 1 -30 p m on October 27 at the
home of Mrs. Robert Garber,
Hollywood Heights, Columbia R 2
when election of officers for 1974
is set The annual Fall Auction is
also planned Mrs. Charles

Newcomer will be co-hostess and
Mrs. Richard Wile will lead
devotions.
Mrs. Elmer Schroll will take
members on a “folding chair”
tour of Europe during a meeting
held November 24 in St Paul’s
United Methodist Church,
Mountville. Mrs Charles A.
Shellenberger and Mrs. D L
Shellenberger will be hostesses.
Mrs Wilbur Kauffman will be in
charge of devotions.
The end-of-the-year meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Martin Greider Lancaster R 2 at
12:30on December 29 when a post
Christmas party is planned Mrs
Robert Garber will plan seasonal
devotions. A covered dish lun
cheon and a gift exchange will be
featured.

Farm Women Society No 11
held its meeting recently at the
home of Mrs. Abram Herr, Kirk
wood. Mrs. Freeda Huber,
president, presided.
Interesting reports were given
of the Farm Women Convention
held at the Farm Show in
Harrisburg.
We are so happy to see our
Capital City so sparkling clean
and repaired after the terrible
flood they must have ex
perienced And a big thank you to
all folks who had a hand in
preparing the Farm Show
buildings and exhibits
