Steve is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Donough, of Manheim R 4. His Suffolk lambs placed first in individual and pen of three lamb classes, going on to win grand championships with both in competition with other breeds Sheep from Lancaster County made their presence known, winning three of the four championship classes after taking first places in seven of 12 classes for individual sheep and pens of three lambs Kenneth Brubaker, 13, a veteran winner at Farm Shows, had the reserve champion in- Solanco Gets BOAC Award A bronze emblem was presented to the Solanco FFA Chapter of Quarryville for their work with the Building Our American Communities (BOAC) program at the state FFA con- vention Wednesday afternoon during the Farm Show. The Grassland FFA Chapter of Garden Spot High School in New Holland was singled out for the 1972 National Chapter Silver Award. Among the parents of FFA members to be honored were Mr. and Mrs. John Weaver of New Holland Rl. As of Wednesday, the Weavers have three sons who have earned Keystone Farmer Degrees. Those sons include; Nelson in 1970; Carl in 1971; and Delmar in 1973. The parents of three state FFA officers from the Lancaster area also were honored. An honorary Keystone degree for the fathers and citations for the mothers were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Martin, of East Earl Rl, parents of Nelson Martin, state FFA president. Her brother, Christian, then won the Dorset individual lamb competition, Ken Brubaker won the Hampshire individual lamb class, and Steve Donough, the Suffolk class. York Countain has Reserve Hereford Bull Run Farms, Montrose RD2, Susquehanna County, exhibited the grand champion female in Hereford classes at the 57th Farm Show. The Bull Run Farms entry, BRF Miss Ryl DHN, is a junior heifer calf. Reserve champion female was shown by James Sloat, York RD4, Miss Yoga Battle, a sum mer yearling. The grand champion Hereford bull MCK Command Fl9B was shown by Buffalo Creek Farms, Freeport RDI, Armstrong County. Keystone Hereford Co., Montrose RD2, exhibited the reserve grand champion bull, KHC Royal DHN 2C, a junior bull. Keystone Hereford Co was recipient of the premier breeder award. second in the Hampshire pen class and was followed by Ken Brubaker and Steve Bushong, in third and fourth place. Kathy Donough placed second in individual Shropshire judging and in the Suffolk classes Elizabeth Herr, of Narvon R 2, was second, in the individual lamb class and third with her pen of three Suffolks. Only the reserve grand championship pen of three award escaped Lancaster County, that going to Thomas Van Wagner of Dauphin County. Wins DHIA Gerald Miller, of Atglen, RDI, Chester County, Wednesday night received the 1972 Superior Supervisor Award from the Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Im provement Association during ceremonies at the 57th Farm Show. The award, “to honor those supervisors who perform valuable service to Com monwealth dairymen,” was presented to Miller at the 102nd annual meeting of the Penn sylvania Dairymen’s Association.
