Top Baby Beef Prize
Linda Miller became the third
member of her family to win the
baby beef grand championship at
a state Farm Show. She did it
with a 1,175 pound Hereford she
calls Clyde.
Linda is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. James Miller, Halifax
R 2.
A Chester County angus was
named reserve grand champion
Among the FFA parents honored Wednesday at the State
FFA Convention were Mr. and Mrs. John M. Weaver, left, and
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Martin. The Weavers have had three sons
receive Keystone Farmer Degrees, and the Martins are the
parents of FFA state president Nelson Martin.

the Hereford lightweight

Judy’s cousin, Linda Good, who
was competing in the crossbred
class with Fred, a steer weighing
1,355 pounds, also won the
reserve championship for that
breed.

named from each of the four
Greg Landis was named the 1973 Star Farmer for Penn
sylvania’s Eastern FFA Region on Wednesday of Farm Show
week.
Honorary Keystone Farmers Degrees were presented to
three local men on Wednesday at Harrisburg. They are, left
to right, Miles Fry, Ephrata farmer, Jess Erway, vo-ag teacher
at Manheim Central, and Phillip Ogline, vo-ag instructor at
Garden Spot.
