He has attended several State FFA Conventions. He won first place in the State Poultry Judging Contest. This win en titled him to attend the National Convention in Kansas City to judge poultry, where he won a bronze emblem Parke had numerous projects for his farming program, in cluding a calf, cow, hogs, and field com. His projects were entered in a local fair where many prizes were won, including the grand champion hog Parke is considering agribusiness in his future plans. He won a gold medal in State competition at Penn State for dairy judging and was a member of the Pennsylvania Dairy Judging team which placed first in the Eastern State Region contest held in Virginia. He was named Chapter Star Farmer and Star Red Rose Farmer for the County, and was honored as Star Dairy Farmer. His tobacco won reserve champion at the local FFA tobacco show last year. He won the silver project book award on the state level. He is on the school honor roll. Michael Roland, a senior at Solanco High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hoover R. Roland, Quarryville RDI. He is chaplain of the Solanco FFA Chapter. His projects are a registered Jersey heifer and work ex perience. He is presently working for Robert H. and G.
