    Farm Women Societies
Society 2
Farm Women Society 2 held its
monthly meeting Dec. 9 at the
home of Mrs. Marlin Hosier,
Manheim RD4.
The meeting began at 10 a.m.
and a covered dish luncheon was
served at noon. Twenty-two
members and seven children
attended the event.
Mrs. Earl Petticoffer led the
devotions and the president Mrs.
Hosier, conducted the business
meeting.
Mrs. Hosier and the newly
elected president, Mrs. Jay
Witmer gave a report on the
executive board meeting.
The following delegates were
elected to represent the society at
the State Convention in
Whale-O-Wash can tackle any cleaning problem you may have. For COMMERCIAL
customers we clean heavy equipment truck fleets, construction equipment, tractors,
trailers and even aluminum brightening. For INDUSTRY we clean signs, tanks (inside
and out), intenor and exterior walls and degrease floors and machinery For MOBILS
HOME OWNERS we can clean exterior surfaces, canopies and porches, fuel storage tanks
and provide an exterior waxing service For the HOME OWNER we clean exterior sur
faces. basement walls and floors, and asphalt and cement flooring If you have a cleaning

Harrisburg Jan. 8 and 9, 1973,
They are: Mrs. Witmer, Mrs.
Hosier, Mrs. Abner Brandt and
Mrs. Paul Donough. Alternate
delegates are: Mrs. Fred Hahn
and Mrs. Boldwin Brandt.
Six members volunteered to
assist in the distribution of Toys
For Tots at the Boys Club in
Lancaster.
A money donation was given
and fruit baskets and groceries
were packed for needy families.
Santa arrived with gifts for the
children and also the members
and $1 gifts were exchanged.
The next meeting will be held
Jan. 13 at the home of Mrs. Earl
Petticoffer, 421 Wbodcrest Ave.,
Lititz.

Society 13
Farm Women Society 13 met at
the Ronks Fire Hall for the an
nua] family Christmas party.
Group singing was led by Mrs.
William Schroeder and Mrs.
Chester Christ provided piano
accompaniment.
Instrumental and vocal
selections were presented by the
following: R. Eugene Hummel
and sons Eric and Earl; Lisa
Truitt; Dianne McCleneghan,
and Mike Schlegelmilch. Sherrie
Schroeder presented a baton
routine and Mrs. Elsie Wilson
recited “T’was the Night Before
Christmas.”
The highlight of the evening
was Santa’s arrival with gifts for
the children, and a gift exchange
was held by the members.
A short business meeting
preceeded the party. The
president, 'Mrs. Hummel, an
nounced that Societies 13 and 14
will entertain guests at
Conestoga View at l p.m.
December 21.

The group presented outgoing
president, Mrs. Hummel, with a
gift certificate in appreciation for
her two years of competent
leadership.
The next meeting will be held
at 7:30 p.m. January 12 at
Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Lititz
Pike. Flower arranging will be
demonstrated. Hostesses will be
Mrs. William Bard and Mrs.
William Schroeder
Society 27
Farm Women Society 27 met
Tuesday evening at the home of
Mrs. Robert Fellenbaum, Mount
Joy. Cohostess was Mrs. Herb
Frey.
Feature of the evening was a
gift wrapping demonstration by
Mrs. Wallace Heisy, Manheim
Using inexpensive items such as
shelf paper and tissue paper by
the roll, Mrs. Heisy created
lovely packaged gifts featuring
something of interest to the
recipient of the gift. Ideas in
cluded flowers formed of ribbon,
gifts wrapped in pretty paper
bags, childrens favorite animals
and wreaths of tiny tissue flowers
which might be centered on
bright paper for a teenager.
The business meeting was
conducted by Mrs. Roy Sauder.
Devotions were led by Mrs.
James Brubaker

Members each brought gifts of
bar soap which will be donated to
the Pickell Nursing Home,
Columbia, as Christmas favors.
A new member, Mrs. Larry
Miller, was installed at this
meeting. Also installed by
president Sauder were the in
coming president, Mrs. Albert
Fry, and recording secretary,
Mrs. C. Witmer Sherer.
A Christmas party for 45
residents of Harrisburg State
Hospital was given Thursday
evening. Social committee
chairlady, Mrs. John Hershey,
was in charge.
Representatives to the State
Farm Women Convention in
Harrisburg on January 8 and 9
were appointed.
The next meeting will be a
“Snow Blast” sometime in
January when husbands and
children will be included for an
evening of fun in the snow or ice
skating on the pond. Hostess will
be Mrs. John H Wolgemuth,
Mount Joy RD2.
