Speaker at the meeting was Eugene Hummel, guidance counselor at McCaskey High School, who spoke on “The Role of a Counselor.” The next meeting will be a family Christmas party at the Ronks Fire Hall to be held at 6:30 p.m. December 9. Mrs. Harry Zook will serve as chairman of the ways and means committee and Mrs. William Schroeder will serve as chairman of the program committee. Husbands will be guests at a Christmas party to be held December 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Akron Restaurant. Each person attending will bring a gift to exchange among each other and a towel for the Lancaster Boys Club. The program will be announced by Mrs. Paul Zercher. Witmer Society 14 Farm Women Society 14 members were entertained recently at the home of Mrs. J. Clarence Groff, Strasburg RDI Mrs. Groff was assisted by Mrs. Ira Rutt, Mrs. Clarence Herr and Mrs. Leon Thomas. Paul G. Wedel, president of Lancaster General Hospital, was guest speaker. He spoke about the work at the hospital. Society 14 will hold a bake Sale November 18 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Park City Mall. The Christmas Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. December 14 at Good ’n Plenty Restaurant. Miss Mary Atzinger will provide the evenings entertainment. Farm Women Society 14 met at the home of Mrs. John Ferguson, Unionville, with Mrs. Park Reinhart as cohostess. The president, Mrs. Joseph Best, presided Devotions were led by Mrs. Ferguson A $25 donation was given to flood relief and a contribution to Christmas Seals. At the annual Christmas party December 9, members will bring a toy wrapped and designated “boy” or “girl” which will be sent to Wilkes-Barre and given to children for Christmas.
