Heifers strong to 25c higher under brisk late demand. Cows generally steady and bulls strong to 50c higher. Feeder cattle fully steady. Four day receipts 16,900 as compared 15,400 previous week and 19,100 a year ago. Slaughter steers approximately 25 percent, heifers 30 percent, with liberal percentage Choice and moderate volume High-Choice and Prime. Cows 9 percent, feeders ap proximately 33 percent, including some 4,000 for Friday auction, these not included in four day total above. Feu cattle prices showed little net change for the period. Early demand was good even in the face of a bearish early carcass trade. Steer prices came under some pressure at mid week, however, with best demand centered on those which would produce 600-700 lb. car cass. Feeder buyers again aggressive for fleshy two-way steers after some decreased activity Monday.
