Senior finalists in the Lancaster County

4-H Dress Revue Finalists Picked
Six senior finalists and three
junior finalists were picked to
represent Lancaster County at
the 4-H Southeast Regional Dress
Revue scheduled for August 11 at
the Plymouth Meeting Mall.

and work on recipes, just to get
my mind off my problems. And
when I finally got what I wanted,
I made sure nobody changed it.”
Many of the ladies who work in
the Spring Glen kitchen are
pretty fine cooks themselves in
the Pennsylvania Dutch
tradition But they follow Mrs.
Sensemg’s recipes right down to
the piches salt.
Chow-chow is the firm’s most
widely distributed product today,
followed closely by pepper
cabbage. Other big sellers in
clude macaroni salad, potato
salad, cole slaw and chicken pot
pie.
While the bulk of Spring Glen’s
August 3 at the Lancaster County
Dress Revue held at the Farm
and Home Center. Competing for
the finalist spots were 58 juniors
and 58 seniors
The senior finalists were:
Nancy Bomberger, Elm; Jen
nifer McDuffie, New Holland;
Nancy Yunginger, Marietta;
Colleen Farlow, Ephrata; Debbie
Myers, Ephrata, and Helen
Habegger, Akron.
Junior finalists were Sherrie

farmers’ market stands. Paul
Metzler is also involved with
these stands. “We have more
stands at farm markets than any
other company,” he says.
“One reason our stands are
successful is that we try to make
them look as nice as possible. We
put up flowers, water fountains
and picket fences and we keep
them clean. The people who run
the stands do a very good job for
us. And then, of course, we sell
what we feel are very good
products.”
