My‘problem in writing this
column isn’t in getting enough
ideas together, it is in deciding
which ones to use. Many
frustrations in my life wouldn’t
be improved one bit by discussing
them here.

keep on writing. My own family
often doesn’t bother to read what
I write; as that way that there is
nothing new in it which they
didn’t already know.
And when I write about my
children, I’m sure sometimes it
sounds like bragging. But why
can’t a Mother be proud of her
youngsters.

If you do your clothes at
a coin laundry, take along
big plastic bags for each
member of the family and
put each one’s clothing in a
separate bag. Then, if you
do not get all of your ironing
done immediately, you won’t
have to dig through a big
clothes basket to find a cer
tain item that someone needs
right away.

into the arm of an uphol
stered chair and slip the
spool of thread over the pm
This will prevent the spool

you work.
They all brought home such
good report cards that I was
reminded of the early years we
spent looking at books together.
When they were tiny we always
read stories to them and taught
them names for different things.
One of my children could read at
four years of age and so the
youngest who was two years and
three months old asked to be
taught. I assured her she was too
young but she insisted and over a
few weeks time learned 75 words
or enough to make many sen
tences. And I guess we enjoyed
“showing-her-off” too.

We started our children young
on sharing tasks and now they
accept work as a way of life.
When all three boys are home, it
keeps their Daddy busy keeping
them busy. They can get a lot of
things accomplished when they
put their minds to it.
There has been a lot of
discipline and frustrations in our
home but I consider them
preparation for the outside world
and working for others. I feel
lucky to have children grow up
close to their parents and to one
another.
