1973 Wheat Program Under Discussion The National Advisory Com mittee on Grains Feed Grain, Wheat and Soybeans met in Washington Tuesday to discuss the current wheat and feed grain situation and offer ideas and advice for the 1973 wheat program. Major details of next year’s wheat program will be an nounced as early as possible so winter wheat producers will have time to plan their farming operations for 1973, USDA an nounced. Membership of the national advisory committee includes producers and other represen tatives of the agricultural in dustry. It meets periodically upon call of the Secretary of Agriculture to advise with USDA personnel on current and background data affecting U.S. grains in connection with the Agricultural Act of 1970. The offering will consist of 600 blocks of promissory notes, each block to have an approximate principal balance of $500,000 and carry a five-year maturity. An insurance contract covering each block will invoke the full faith and credit of the United States Government to assure repayment of principal and in terest to investors. The rate of interest yield to investors was negotiated bet ween the underwriter group and the Department of Agriculture heifers in the milking barn—producing— months ahead of many other heifers.
