    The Grassland FFA Chapter held a
special awards recognitions meeting
Monday night at New Holland. During the
meeting Keystone Farmer citations were

Veronica Bare is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs John Bare, 419
Mount Sidney Road, Witmer She
graduated this year from
Conestoga Valle>, and is a
secretary at Witmer’s Cabinet
Shop.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray
R. Harbold, Ralene Harbold is a
dental assistant in the office of
Dr. Werner Fetter,
Elizabethtown. She is a recent
graduate of Elizabethtown High
School and lives at
Elizabethtown, R 3.
Carol J. Kettering graduated
this year from Manheim
Vownship High School, and is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
E Kettering, Lititz R 3 She hopes
to do volunteer work with the
Brethren Volunteer Service.
Brenda K. Kreider, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Floyd Kreider,
Mount Joy R 2, is a senior at
Hempfield High School. She
hopes to do volunteer work with
underprivileged children after
graduation.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Overly,

Karen Overly, a senior at Solanco
High School. She plans to major
in home economics following
graduation.

Rises in theU.S.
The per capita consumption of
red meats (beef, veal,- pork, and
lamb) reached a record of 192
pounds in 1971, up nearly 40 per
cent in 20 years. Nearly all of the
net increase resulted from a
sharp rise in beef consumption,
says H. Louis Moore, Extension
agricultural economist at Penn
sylvania State University
