The multi-county weekend,
which was attended by five
counties, was discussed by Bob
Minshall. This weekend was to be
one of fun and relaxation by
everyone and that is what it was.
Hosea Latshaw talked about
the Pennsylvania Association of
Farmers’ Cooperatives Summer
Institute. Chester County will be
sending several delegates to
Shippensburg State in July to
learn more about cooperatives.
New business was then
discussed which included 4-H
Regional Day. It was decided
that Chester County would again
serve refreshments at this event.
A committee of Dot and Kay
Minshall, Karen and Colleen
Lafferty, Kathy Shaw, Don
Nafziger, and Ester King,
(chairman), was formed to work
out the details. A date could not
be decided for the family picnic
so each county council member is
to find out which date is best for
their club and report back in
June.
The meeting was adjourned.
Becky Robinson, Hosea Latshaw,
and Janet Hutchison balanced
the treasurer’s books. Refresh
ments were served by the social
committee.
County Council is an
organization consisting of two
delegates from each club who
come to help plan 4-H events.
County Council is just one part of
4-H which is sponsored by the
Chester County Cooperative
Extension Service.
