Hits Peach Trees
The early growing season in
Pennsylvania suffered a setback
last week as the average weekly
temperature at all but one of the
19 reporting stations dipped
below normal The lone exception
was Altoona
What this will mean at harvest
time is still unknown The Penn
sylvania Crop Reporting Service
said the crop hardest hit was the
fruit belt in the Southcentral area
of the state where about one-third
of the peach trees were in full
bloom as temperatures dropped
below freezing
After just one month of com
parative figures five areas are
already showing a deficiency in
rainfall This drying out did
permit farmers to get back in the
fields.
The cook weather has slowed
the growth of winter gr .ins, hay
and pasture and fruit develop
ment in the central and northern
counties

Certainly Lasso 0
controls the weeds in
most any soil:
Silly. Sandy. Clay.
Or loam.
Use Lasso liquid or granules to get
the grasses. Most weeds, too. Any
where you plant com or soybeans
in Southeast Pennsylvania, New
Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, or
Virginia. That's a big area. With a
lot of soil types. And a lot of differ
ent organic matter levels.
But no matter how your soil type
and organic matter changes, your
herbicide won't have to. Not with
Lasso. To get the grasses. Many
broadleafs, too. In corn or beans.
That s what you expect from your herbicide.
