fairly good with asking prices
generally 1 cent higher than this
week’s levels; however un
dertone firm. Negotiations too
limited to report prices. Less
than trucklot prices % cent
higher on both Plant and U.S.
Grade A. Live supplies continue
fully adequate to ample for full
needs with weights occasionally
heavier than desired. Pool

slow to dear. Floor stocks of
mediums fully adequate for light
demand. Country point offerings

Receipts restricted to regular
shippers and arrivals are light.
Smalls irregular with local
movement unaggressive. Less
than fancy quality large offered
at 26-28 c for limited buying in
terest. Jumbo clearing with most

Compared with last weeks close,
closing prices slaughter steers
and heifers 50-75 C higher. Cows
25-50 c higher. Bulls firm. Feeder
cattle strong to 50c higher, in
stances 1,00 higher on yearling
steers and heifers.
Slaughter steers ap
proximately 46 per cent, heifers
37 per cent, fairly liberal per
centage Choice and a moderate
volume High-Choice and Prime.
Cows 9 per cent, feeders 5 per
cent. Four day receipts 19,300 as
compared 19,000 previous week
and 18,900 a year ago. Fed cattle
prices advanced sharply with all
buying interests aggressive for
numbers and quotations early
and marketings quite well
distributed over trading period.
Best steer demand generally
centered on 1000-1150 pound
withgts moved readily under
good demand and a continued
broad inquiry for cattle to be
slaughtered outside the im
mediate Omaha area.
