horticulturists at Pennsylvania
State University. Remove old
wood and dead wood to keep the
plant young and vigorous. Do not
prune climbers and rambler
roses until after they have
bloomed or you will remove
flower buds.

Cloister FFA President Rick Pfautz was honored with a
Keystone Farmer degree at the Cloister chapter Annual
Banquet. FFA advisor Kenneth Hoover made the presen
tation
There was one Keystone
Farmer degree presented. It
went to chapter president Rick
Pfautz. The Keystone degree is
the highest award at the state
level and is awarded to no more
than two percent of the state FFA
members.
An honorary farmers degree
was presented to Richard Dean of
Ephrata for his assistance to the
chapter. The Outstanding Service
Award was given to Ray Buch of
heifers in the milking barn—producing—
months ahead of many other heifers.
