Attention!
A mystery lancet and an
electric commode were attention
getters at the 56th Pennsylvania
Farm Show
The giant-size faucet, exhibited
by a water softening lirm, has an
endless supply of water The
secret is a recirculating pump
which forces water to the top of a
clear, plastic tube The water
then spills over the top and down
the outside of the tube creating
the illusion of a steady stream
pouring out of the faucet which is
suspended in space
The electric commode is
housed in an outhouse
reminiscent of conditions that
used to exist—and occasionally
still do—in rural Pennsylvania
Human waste is disposed of
through electrical incineration
The commode is part of the
Pennsylvania Rural Electric
Association’s exhibit
The display is made up of hundreds of eggs
and gives information on eggs.
