Farm Women Societies
Society 2
Society of Farm Women 2 had a
covered dish supper and
Christmas party for the families
at the Mastersonville fire hall.
Forty adults and children at
tended. After the supper a short
business meeting was conducted
by Mrs. Marlin Hosier the
president. She gave a report of
the executive board meeting and
each member received the
yearbook for 1972. The group
voted to give a donation of money
to retarded children.
Christmas carols were sung
and as the children were singing
“Jingle Bells” Santa arrived
Everyone received a gift and an
orange.
The next meeting will be held
January 8 at the home of Mrs.
Sara Kline, 109 Fruitville Pike,
Manheim.
Society 3
Farm Women Society 3 met in
the social room of Salem
Lutheran Church, Ephrata, with
Mrs. Earl Miller serving as
hostess for the Christmas party
for members and their children.
During the business session,
Mrs. Clarence Stauffer gave a
report of the executive board
meeting held in December.
A contribution of $25 was given
to LARK, and a contribution was
made to buy kitchen equipment
for the Farm and Home Center.
The yearbooks for 1972 were
distributed by the program
committee chairman, Mrs. Roy
Weinhold.
The group was entertained by
Chipso the Clown. Christmas
carols were sung, followed by a
visit from Santa Claus, who gave
each of the children a gift and
distributed the gifts exchanged
by the members.
Lunch was served by the
hostess, followed by a social
hour.
Society 5
Farm Women Society 5 met at
the home of Mrs. Henry Stehman,
Manheim RDI, on Saturday. Mrs.
Stehman was in charge of
devotions.
The president, Mrs. Hiram
Graybill, announced that

donations were given to the T.B.
Society and to the (Jsner family of
East Petersburg.
Mrs. Graybill, retiring
president, presented the gavel to
the newly-elected president, Mrs.
J.G. Longenecker. Mrs. Florence
Herdwig was installed as a new
member.
Mrs. J.G. Longenecker, Mrs.
Mervin Peiffer, and Mrs. Kent
Fahringer will be delegates to the
State Convention next month at
Harrisburg.
Mrs. Mervin Sauder presented
a program of pictures and
recording of Oberamagan

Passion Play in Germany. The
Society sang Christmas carols.
The next meeting will be held
on January 29 at the home of
Elizabeth and Matilda Workman.
Society 13
Farm Women Society 13 and
their families held a Christmas
party at the Ronks Fire Hall.
Mrs. Robert Bomberger led
devotions. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron
Snader and Miss Liijda Leaman
presented a musical program.
Mrs. William Schroeder led the
group in singing Christmas
Carols, accompanied by Mrs.
Chester Christ on the piano.
Mrs. John Denlinger and Mrs.
Gordon Rietzel will be attending
the State Convention in
Harrisburg on January 10 and
Mrs. Isaac Koser, Mrs. Elsie
Wilson and Mrs. Ervin Brown
will be attending on January 11.
The next meeting will be held
at 7 30 p.m. January 14 at the
home of Mrs. John Denlinger, 28
Greenfield Road. Mrs. Gordon
Rietzel will serve as cohostess.
Society 25
Farm Women Society 25 met at
the Shady Maple Building at the
residence of Mrs. Chester
Eshleman, Willow Street RDI.

Groff was in charge of devotions.

delegates to attend the State
Convention in Harrisburg on
January 10 and 11, 1972, along
with the new Society president,
Mrs. John Metz.
Societies 24 and 25 entertained
the patients at Conestoga View on
December 16. Favors were given
to each patient.

caster RD6. Mr. and Mrs. David
Shenk will show slides of
Somalia.
Society 27
Farm Women Society 27 met
recently at Rheems Fire Hall.
Devotions were led by Mrs. Luke
Brubaker.

Mrs. William Dean, president,
conducted devotions based on the
Christmas story.
A Christmas musical program
was presented by Mrs. Elizabeth
Nieccyporuk, soloist.
