Meat Label Deadline Extended
Meat processors will have until
April 1 to exhaust current sup
plies of certain labels, the U.S.
Department of Agriculture an
nounced recently.
The extension gives processors
an extra four months to use up
stocks of labels which do not

A total of 635 Lancaster County
FFA members have paid their
state and national dues.
The number of FFA members
is up about 75 to 80 from a year
ago, according to Henry Givler,
area vo-ag supervisor.

Marketing Service granted the
extension because many firms
still have large stocks of labels
which cannot be used up by the
original deadline, December 1.
Current regulations, which were
revised and published in last
year’s October 3 Federal
Register, provide for C&MS
extension of the effective date.

DHIA testing year were the Sam
and David Stewart, Delta RDI,
dairy herds with yearly average
of 18,555 pounds of milk and 790
pounds of butterfat.
The Stewart herd was also
recognized for the high individual
305 day lactation with 27,325
pounds of milk and the high 305
day butterfat record with 1,056
pounds of butterfat.

dairymen have been elected
directors of the Inter-State Milk
Producers’ Cooperative,
Philadelphia.
Chosen by dairymen in their
local districts, the total of 24
Inter-State directors from
Pennsylvania, New Jersey,
Delaware and Maryland
represent their districts at all
Inter-State board meetings.
Daniel L. Martin, Manheim,
was chosen as director for
District 7 and Robert B. Mc-

represent District 3.
