Mrs. Mary Snyder was cohostess, and Mrs. Wilbur Kauffman led devotions. A miscellaneous auction and an original local color skit by Mrs. Elmer Schroll were program features for the meeting. Doug Adams, grandson of Mrs. Daniel Will, program chairman, was auctioneer for the auction which included original hand crafted Christmas decorations, fancy cookies, clothing, jewelry, paintings and home canned fruits and vegetables. Mrs. Robert Garber, president, conducted the business portion of the meeting Information about the State Farm Women Convention was presented Banquet reservations are available from Mrs Cyrus Gamble, treasurer Mrs. Elmer Schroll and Mrs Mary Snyder were named delegates to the convention, with Mrs John Melhnger serving as alternate The next meeting will be held at 12 30 p m December 29 at the home of Mrs Robert Brubaker. A covered dish luncheon and Christmas party is planned. Society 5 Farm Women Society 5 en tertained their husbands at the Bird-m-Hand Motor Inn Restaurant on November 27. John Henry Hershey of Lititz entertained by showing pictures of hunting in Montana with bow and arrow Mrs. Metora Hostetter gave a piano recital. The next meeting will be a Christmas party to be held at 1:30 p.m. December 18 at the home of Mrs. Henry Stehman, Manheim RDI. There will be a gift ex change. For the Society’s safety program of the year, Jesse Cutler, Drumore, spoke on the background and services offered by the Southern Lancaster County Family Health Center which opened on October 1. Mrs. Lester Newcomer, sun shine chairman, reported the purchase of a birthday gift for one of the three children at Hamburg State Hospital who are treated during the year by the Society. Christmas gifts were purchased for each of the three children to be distributed on Christmas Day. Mrs. Newcomer, assisted by Mrs. J. Clayton Charles and Mrs. Robert Rohrer, reported on the visit to Conestoga View in November.
