Omaha Cattle Thursday, November 11 Compared with last weeks close slaughter steers and heifers mostly 25c higher, instances 50c higher. Cows 25-50 c higher, bulls fully steady. Small feeder supply fully steady. Some fleshy two way steers 50c higher. Four day receipts 19,300 as compared 15,900 previous week and 25,700 a year ago. Slaughter steers approximately 35 percent, heifers 35 percent, cows 8 per cent, and feeders near 20 percent. Fed cattle trade showed high measure of stability as most slaughterers went into the week needing cattle for immediate requirements. Most buying in terests somewhat cautious and selective at midweek, however, in view of continued unfavorable ratio between current live prices and carcass realizations in ad dition to the slow movements of carcass beef at the wholesale level. Order buyers again fairly aggressive overall finish at tractive with liberal percentage Choice and moderate volume High-Choice and Prime. Slightly expanded supplies were ideally distributed over trading period. Average cost slaughter steers first three days 32.95 average weight 1129 lbs as compared 32.53 and 1116 lbs previous week and 27.37 and 1106 lbs a year ago.
