Miss Rose Ann Leininger led the devotions. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Robert Gregory, president. Mrs. Paul Hess and Mrs. Carrol Myers, Ephrata, were accepted as new members. Mrs John Edwards gave a report of the three-day trip to Williamsburg taken by members and friends recently. Contributions of $25 were given to the United Campaign and $5O to the Ephrata Public Library. The following officers were elected for 1972: Mrs. Clarence Stauffer, president; Mrs. Jesse Balmer, vice president; Mrs. Earl Smoker, secretary, Mrs. Earl Miller, assistant to the secretary, and Mrs. Gilbert Paul, treasurer. Appointed to take charge of the Christmas decoration table for Lancaster County Homemakers Day are Mrs. Harry Usner, Mrs. Roy Weinhold and Mrs. Earl Miller. Delegates for the State Con vention of the Society of Farm Women to be held m Harrisburg January 10 and 11, 1972, are Mrs. John Edwards and Mrs. Lloyd Martin, with Mrs. Harvey Geh man as alternate. During the program, Mrs. Doris Thomas, Lancaster County Extension home economist, spoke on period furnishings for the home and showed samples of fabrics for drapes. Progressive Parties Held The latest report of Progressive Parties to aid the Southern Lancaster County Family Health Center at Quarryville shows 186 parties have been held and a total of $2,806.06 has come in through them. Devotions were led by Mrs. Kitty Rift. Mrs. Milton Eberly, president, was in charge of the meeting. Six members volunteered to fold Christmas seals. A trip to the Poconos was also planned. The group voted $2O to the Mount Joy Needlework Guild and $2O to the United Campaign. The program included a violin selection by Miss Debbie Good. An auction was conducted by Mrs. Mae Gantz. A show and tell program followed. Plans were made to hold a Christmas party at 6:30 p.m. December 4 at the Rheems Fire Hall. Husbands and families will be invited. Hostesses were Mrs. Emory Wolgemuth, Mrs. Charles Nissley, Mrs. Eva Thome and Mrs. Paul Hess. Society 7 Farm Women Society 7 celebrated their 50th An niversary at a luncheon recently at the Good and Plenty Restaurant under the supervision of Mrs. Carlton Homsher, lun cheon chairman. Devotions were led by Mrs. Hazel, McUvaine, charter member. Among those attending was charter member Mrs. L. J. Denlinger; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Aaron Denlinger; grand daughters-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Denlinger and Mrs. John Denlinger, and four great granddaughters, Cindy, Jennifer, Stephanie and Sonya Denlinger. Mrs. Denlinger is the only living member who was present at the first meeting of Society 7 at the home of Mrs. E. E. Keneagy in 1921. Others present were: Mrs. Ruth Snead, charter member; Mrs. John Hess, county president, Mrs. Carl Johnson Sr, county second vice president; Mrs. Leo Snader, county secretary; Mrs. Martin Greenleaf, State secretary of Farm Women, and Society 7 member Mrs. Aaron Denlinger, presently serving as County first vice president. Following the business meeting the celebration continued in the form of a fashion show.-Mrs. John Denlinger narrated the history of Society 7 interspersed with fashions from 1920 to the present. The November meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Henry Eversole, Cherry Hill Road, Paradise, when cancer dressings will be made and safety tips will be stresed. Society 25 Fram Women Society 25 met at the home of Mrs. Melvin Groff, Lancaster RD6, with 23 members and four guests present. Devotions were in charge of Mrs. M. Wade Groff. Mrs. David Newswanger received the gift of the month. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. John Hen derson, president. It was decided that the Society would have an exhibit table at the Homemaker’s Christmas Program at the Farm and Home Center on Tuesday, December 7. Mrs. Carl Gish, Mrs. Samuel Goss and Mrs. Sterling Elmer are in charge of setting up the table. The special events committee was in charge of entertaining at Embreeville State Hospital on October 22. Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Breneisen, Mrs. John Metz, Mrs. Samuel Goss, Mrs. Warren Shank and Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Burkholder planned to play Bingo with the patients and serve refreshments. Six members folded Christmas Seals at the Health and Welfare Center. The Society was reminded to bring foods or baked items to the bazaar table at the Lancaster County Convention of Farm Women November 6 at the Farm and Home Center. The State Convention will be held January 10 and 11, 1972, in Harrisburg. The banquet will be held at the Penn Harris Motor Inn.
