EPA Announces Deputy
Edward W. Furia Jr, Regional
Administrator for the En
vironmental Protection Agency’s
Region 111 announced recently
the appointment of Richard P
Nalesnik as the Deputy Regional
Administrator.
Nalesnik, currently director of
EPA’s National Water Quality
Standards Program in
Washington, D.C., will assume
his duties at Region Ill’s
headquarters in Philadelphia in
November. '

Horticulture Show Set
A leisurely trip around the
world can be enjoyed free by
attending the annual Horticulture
Show October 23 and 24 at Penn
sylvania State University.
Among the features will be an
Oriental garden, an open-air
market of the Caribbean, and a
formal garden of Europe.
“The World of Horticulture,”
this year’s theme, will include a
desert scene from the south
western United States and a hut
on a tropical island.
To be held in the Ice Pavilion at
University Park, the show is
sponsored by students in the
Horticulture Club. Held
traditionally during
Homecoming Weekend, the hours
