Fed cattle prices forced slightly
downward under bearish in
fluence of declining carcass
trade. Buying interests general
ly cautious although most pack
ers were in need of cattle to
meet current slaughter quotas
and were forced to compete on
available supply. There was
good demand by shippers and
order buyers for cattle to be
slaughtered outside the imme
diate Omaha area. Large share
of steer supply Good to Aver

mining factor than a few weeks
