LaCour, Planning Analysis, Solid Waste Section, Bureau of Housing and Environmental Control reported on Act 241 (as ammended), Pa., Solid Waste Management Act. He stated that beginning January 1970, the Act officially required permits for all solid waste disposal. “The Module, which was mailed to members, should be completed by a qualified in dividual such as a geologist, soil scientist or hydrology scientist. Doug Rohrer, winner of the FFA tractor driving contest at Ephrata Fair, is seated and the runner-up, Bill Krantz, is standing. Rohrer Wins FFA Tractor Driving Doug Rohrer, Lititz RD2, was winner of the Lancaster-Chester Area FFA Tractor Operation contest last week at the Ephrata Fair. He will represent the area next Summer in state-wide competion at Pennsylvania State Univer sity. Second place in the contest went to William Krantz, Quarryvdle RD2, and third to Glenn Yoder, Christiana RDI, Chester County. James Weaver, Ephrata RDI, took fourth place. Trophies were awarded to the top two winners with plaques going to third and fourth place. President Gene Bailey reviewed the Proposed Poultry Inspection Regulations with the members. Upon completion of the review President Bailey requested members to review the regulations further. If there were any questions or suggestions, give Gene Bailey and E J. Lawless authority to submit recommendations All of this was to be done by September 25, 1971, because October 1 is the deadline for comments in Washington, D C Special attention was called to the proposal relating to with drawal of inspection service The group went on record objecting to the proposal to furnish warm water to inspectors The U S Sisk Bill and the Pa.
