A member of the Oxford 4-H Club, Elizabeth has carried 4-H project work in entomology, forestry, strawberries, stamp collecting, and baby sitting. She has also been a teen lead er for three years and served as president, treasurer, and song leader for her local club. She has exhibited and won many honors for her entomology collections at many shows including Grand Champion Display at the 1971 Pennsylvania Farm Show. Patricia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoopes Yarnall, Oxford, has been cited for her activities in the 4-H Veterinary Science pro gram. A member of the Manor Calf Club, Gum Tree 4-H Horse Club, and Oxford 4-H Home Economics Club, she has carried 4-H project work in dairy, horse, and clothing. Patricia has been a teen leader for three years and served as vice president, and sec retary of her local clubs. Patricia has attended the' Veterinary Science clinics at the University of Pennsylvania New Bolton Center, 4-H Capital Days, Pennsylvania 4-H Club Congress, and Regional Dress Revue. Hosea, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Latshaw, Spring City, has been recognized for his work in field crop, sciences. A member of the Tri-Community 4-H Club, he has carried many different 4-H projects including flowers, for estry, vegetables, philately, han dyman, electricity, and plant breeding. Hosea has served Ms local club as a teen leader for two years, president, and game and song leader. He is currently presi dent .of jChester County 4-H Council. During the event, Mrs. Jack Frost gave construction awards to 14 girls presenting the most outstanding projects during the year. Also announced were the names for 23 members who at tained perfect attendance at the group’s meetings. Eighteen members represent ed the group at the annual Lan caster County Dress Revue. They were lisa Adams, Joyce Camp bell, Lynn Gable, Susan Harrold, Sherri Kurtz, Vicki Kurtz, Jen nifer McDuffie, Debbie Shirk, Susan Supplee, Karen Waldrop, Evelyn Adams, Sandra Chalfont, Nancy Gable, Kris Halls, Diane Penn Willow 4-H Club The Penn Willow Community Club cooking and sewing groups held their round-up on Wednes day, August 4, at the Safe Har bor Park. A covered dish sup per, which was attended by 65 parents and 4-H’ers previewed the evening’s program. The clothing girls showed the garments that they made during the year. Then the cooking club presented several demonstra tions and skits. At the conclu sion of the program. Miss Joan Lucas, assistant home economist, presented the awards and rib bons Beverly Martin also received a 4-H jacket for selling the most subs at a recent County Council sub sale. On Friday, August 13, the club took its annual trip. The group visited Pinchot State Park for a day of swimming and recreation. News Reporter, Mary Hale 4-H Nift Needles Club At the last Manheim Township 4-H Nift Needles meeting, Miss Joan Lucas and Mrs. Audrey Nixon were the club’s guest speakers. Miss Lucas brought tidings from the Lancaster County Ex tension Service. She also told of the opportunities of Achievement Day. A demonstration of basic mod eling and correct posture was given by Mrs. Nixon. Later in the meeting, plans for a covered dish supper were dis cussed. The date was set for August 30. Let stand a min ute or two to moisten crumbs thoroughly. Add beef and beat well with a fork. Shape into a round log on flat baking pan Bake at 400 degrees for 40 to 45 min utes, until well-browned. Cool, then spread with cheese. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serves six. 19
