County concluded with a Square
Dance at the Black and White
Holstein Barn Friday night,
July 2.
The 4-H’ers left Lancaster for
their homes in Wisconsin early
Saturday morning, July 3.
Upon their arrival Sunday
evening, June 27, the Wisconsin
4-H’ers were greeted at the
Farm and Home Center by their
4-H Host families. Each family,
supplied its guest with a picnic

area countryside, visited Landis
Valley Museum, and participat
ed in a Road Rally. For the
Road Rally event, 4-H’ers in a,
number of cars drove a pre
planned route, calculated their
mileage, and answered written
questions about the route. The

Penn Willow 4-H Club
The regular monthly meeting
of the Penn Willow Community
Club was held Friday evening,
July 9, at the Pequea Township
Elementary School.
The meeting was called to
order and directed by President
Karen Harnish.
The queens for the 4-H Queen
Contest were chosen. Barb
Huber is the club’s junior queen
and Beverly Martin as the senior
queen.
Ken Lefever, a member of the
Conestoga Ambulance Crew,
talked to the club about emer
gency life techniques and how to
carry them out.
A bake sale was held Saturday
morning, July 10. A profit, of
$37.55 was earned. The money
will be used for the club’s trip,
which is scheduled for the next
club meeting.

Visit North Carolina
The 4-H’ers of Lancaster
County were slated to travel in
their exchange trip to Bun
combe County, North Carolina,
early Thursday morning, July
15. On the way, they will stop
overnight in Williamsburg, Vir
ginia, and enjoy the sites of the
historic town.
After a six-day visit in the
homes of fellow 4-H’ers in
North Carolina, they will return
to Lancaster County on Thurs
day, July 22.

County 4-H Horse Show Planned
Lancaster County 4-H Horse
Club leaders have scheduled a
meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at
the Lancaster County Biding
Club, 2615 Columbia Ave., Lan
caster, to finalize plans for the
Lancaster County 4-H Horse
Show Saturday, July 24.
The Saturday show will begin
at 9 a.m. on the Show grounds
just west of Lancaster along the
Columbia pike. The countywide
show will include members
from six 4-H Clubs.
Co. 4-H Dress Revue,
Fashion Show Scheduled
The Lancaster County MI
Dress Revue and Fashion Show
will be held at the Farm and
Home Center Thursday, August
5.
Dress revue judging begins at
9 a.m. and the fashion show is at
2 p.m.

county event were required to
compete in their local groom
ing and showing contest.
Judges will be William Lewis,
Perkasie, Pa. for the western
division, and William Murray,
Newark, Del., for the english
division. Dr. Earl Weber Will be
the roundup steward.

fourth weekly meeting.
