4-H Start Stitchers
At the Mount Joy 4-H Start
Stitchers meeting, the club was
led in the 4-H Pledge and the
Salute to the Flag by Tammy'
Duke. Roll call was taken by
Gwen Hosier and Jeannie Kah
ler
Jeannie Kahler demonstrated
the sewing machine
Dues money was collected by
Brenda Sensenig.
The club was divided into
groups to begin sewing proj
ects.

Busy Bakers Cooking
The Busy Bakers 4-H Cooking
Club held its third meeting
June 29.
After club members paid dues,
a 4-H song was sung and a
game, chosen by the game lead
er, was played ,
The club is divided into two
groups, Marian Brenneman, Nan
cj Garber and Mrs Heisey, are
leaders
One group made carrot cookies
and the other gioup made punch

The Lancaster County 4-H
Dairy Club Show will be held
Tuesday and Wednesday, July
27 and 28 at the Guernsey Sales
Pavilion, Lincoln Highway East
Club members who plan to
participate should regislei their
heifers at the Extension office
no later than July 15, to be in
cluded in the show catalog

The next meeting will be held
at 7 p.m. Monday, July 12, at the
Mill Store, K-Mart shopping cen
ter, to study fabrics, patterns and
sewing aids.

Clashing Thimbles 4-H
The Clashing Thimbles 4-H
Club heard reports from Kris
Stehman, president, and Vicki
Siglin, secretary, about this
year’s happenings of the 4-H
Club Congress at Penn State.
Candidates for this year’s
queen contest were elected. In
the category of junior queen
(ages 9 to 14) is Jill Blouch,
while senior queen (over 14
years of age) is Kris Stehman.
County Council members are
Max Smith, Lancaster County
ag agent, said only the showman
ship contest will be held this
year However, scores for both
fitting and showing will be given
m order to get a final project
score
The contest will be held by
bleeds and be divided between
Junior and Senior exhibitors.

Mount Joy 4-H Stitchers
The third meeting of the
Mount Joy second-year 4-H Sew
ing Club was held July 6 at St.
Mark’s United Methodist Church
v/ith 21 girls attending.
Beverly Garber, president, call
ed the meeting to order and led
the group in the 4-H pledge. Sus
an Miller, secretary, had roll call
and read the minutes.
Wendy Garber, assistant trea
surer, gave a report and orders
were taken for 4-H pins.
Martha Garber talked about
choosing the 4-H Queens. The
meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be held
July 13 at St Mark’s.

meeting.
