    Ephrata Twins Win Strawberry Roundup
Ephrata RDI twins were first
and second place winners in the
4-H strawberry roundup Wed
nesday.
Vanessa Walter was first
place winner and her sister
Teresa was second The 12-
year-old daughters of Mr and
Mrs. Joseph Walter grew the
berries on the Walter farm near
Clay. They are members of the
Lincoln 4-H Club and attend
Ephrata Junior High School
The winning berries were
bought by members of the Lan
caster Rotary Club for $1 a
quart and second place sold for
90 cents a quart Vanessa’s ber
ries were the Dixieland variety,
While Teresa grew Pochontas
Other top placings were
Richard Yungmger, Marietta
RDI, third; Kathy Hastings, Ox
ford RDI, fourth, and Mary
Ann Yunginger, Marietta RDI,
fifth.
The judge was Harry S
Sloat, retired Extension agent.
The Rotary Club sponsored the
roundup and donated prize
money.
