RULES SUGGESTED BY N.T.P.A
1 Contests open to farm tractors with rubber tires No
four-wheel duve allowed No dual tues or chains pei
mitted No steel wheels peimitted
2 Each ti actor may be entered in more than one class,
but only once in each class
3 Minimum drawbar length 18 inches from center of rear
axle to point of hook Drawbar to be stationary in all
duections 20 inches from top of hitching device to
giound , , , , .
4 Diawbais must be equipped with a hitching device or
clevis not more than 1 inch in thickness and must have
'a 3 inch diametei opening Pulling point mav not be
more than IVs inches fiom back edge of the hitching de
vice Ti actors may not pull from tow or thiee point
hitching mechanisms
5 No pi assumed tanks allowed except LP gas
6 All exhausts must dischaige upwaid veitically above
the highest point of tractor and be securely attached
Rain caps may not be used
7 All weights must be safely secured to the ti actor
8 Contest limited to stock block ti actors
9 ALL TRACTORS must be equipped with a hood and
gull
10 The length of hitch on an official sled shall be 38 inches
(plus or minus % inch) as measured fiom the point of
contact of the hook to the hitching device learward to
the point of hitch on the sled
11 The weight classes are as follows undei 3,000 pounds,
under 5 000, undei 7,000, under 9,000, undei 12,000,
under 15 000 pounds
12 The use of toiau° converters, automatic shifts, etc will
be pei nutted dunng the pull
13 Operatois must inrun seated during the pull and have
at least one hand o i the steei mg wheel
14 All pulls must stait fiom a tight hitch no jeiking
nermitted
15 Tractors must be stopped immediately upon signal fiom
mdge
16 Tiactois must he opeiated in a safe manner at all
times
17 Ti actors and st'd must lemam within boundaries of

18 Only one pull allowed each contestant unless tie is de

19 The pull shall he considered over when foiward mo

to a minimum

on newly installed platform scales Weight will include

21 Thiee speed clashes will be operated as follows
-1 Out of the field class under 4 MPH top speed
2 Stock block class under 8 MPH top sneed
3 Modified or special engine class 8 MPH maximum

crowd and youiself when building and operating your
machine
