garden and do a lot of canning
and freezing.” They have their
own strawberries. She puts a
lot in the freezer and makes
shortcake and uses them on Dan

on top. She also makes a lot of
strawberry and peach jelly She
cans string beans and fruits but
puts other vegetables, apple
sauce and their own meat in the
freezer She freezes a lot of sour
cherries for pies The children
work in the garden and this year
will have string beans to sell.
They have a large lawn
around their nearly 200 year old
sandstone house. Mrs Eby has
(been mowing the glass but now
the children are big enough to
help some with it.
She also has some flower an
