—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 24,1971 32 Firm Names Two Foremen Victor F. Weaver, Inc., New Holland has announced the ap pointment of two men to posi tions as foremen in the com pany’s Prepared Foods Division. Jay B. Hess, 1620 Stevens St, East Petersburg, has been named foreman of the day Batter Dipped Fried Chicken opera tion. A native of Lancaster County, Hess joined Weaver in 1970 as foreman of the Sliced Chicken Roll department, a position he held until his appointment. An active participant in community affairs, he is presently serving as president of the East Peters burg Fire Company. In a related move, David L. Witxner, 321 Valley Rd., Lancas ter, has been promoted to fore man of the Sliced Chicken Roll department succeeding Jay Hess. Witmer, a 1964 graduate of Manheim Township High School, began at Weaver last year as an assistant foreman in the Chicken Roll department. He later became assistant foreman of Weaver's newest Batter Dip ped operation, a position he has held until his promotion. Both men will be responsible for the production of specialty items in Weaver’s line of con venience food products Meanwhile, Frederick D OPontz 111, 26 Farmersville Road, Leola, has been named to a new position in the Production Plan ning department at Victor F Weaver, Inc., New Holland Under his new duties, Pontz reports to Weaver’s Corporate Secretary. In addition to his former responsibilities of supply and production scheduling and inventory control, he is now re sponsible for preparing and in stituting the production master plan, supply and price forecast ing, and intermediate and long range planning. A graduate of Ephrata High School and Babson Institute of Business Administration, Pontz joined Weavei’s Production Planning department in 1968. An active participant in pro fessional and community affairs, he recently served in the 1971 Heart Fund Campaign. He is also a member of the Lancaster Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) and has re cently been nominated treasurer of the American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS).
