Price upturns in the whole sale beef trade last week and early this week proved to be a bullish factor in the live trade. Both slaughter steers and heifers registered price advan ces on Monday in face of an improved demand and reduced receipts. However, both classes encountered somewhat narrow er demand on Wednesday prices weakened slightly. Overall finish of slaughter steers about like last week with 12 per cent Prime and 70 per cent Choice, compared with 17 per cent Prime and 72 per cent Choice last year.
