—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 3,1971
Two eighth grade Warwick students admire a display
in the mobile agri-business exhibit of the Pennsylvania De
partment of Agriculture.
The two are: Jerry Heck, son of Mrs. Mary F. Heck, 111
Locust St., Lititz, and Robin Markley, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Markley, Lititz RDI.
During the visit to Warwick High School Tuesday, Al
bert Schmick of the Pennsylvania Department of Agricul
ture explained that the mobile has visited most of the
schools in Lancaster County and will be stopping at Man
heim and Elizabethtown next.
Youths at the schools have an opportunity to take a
leisurely tour through the mobile and ask questions about
careers in agri-business.
Schmick said the goal is to show youths that agri
culture involves far more than farming and that no matter
what type of work the youth may want to do, there’s usually
a chance to do it in agri-business.
Schmick emphasized that if just one of the hundreds of
students at each school is reached ,the effort will have been
worthwhile.
