18—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 26,1970 Chester County Holds Annual 4-H Achievement Banquet Ann Minshall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jay R Minshall, of Avondale was named the Outstanding 4-H Club Member in Chester County at the 1970 Achievement Banquet held De cember 12 at East Brandywine Fire Hall. Ann, a member of Kaolin Home Economics and Kaolin Community Club, was cited for her outstanding work in her lo cal club as a teen leader and her active part in the county and state 4-H program She is a freshman at the University of Delaware majoring in educa tion. Melanie McCartney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Horace E Mc- Cartney of Chester Springs, and William McAllister, son of Mr and Mrs. Ellsworth McAllister of Oxford, were named the re cipients of the “I Dare You” award for leadership This award, sponsored by the “I Dare You” Committee, is pre sented to youths who “challenge 3 H Nw . The Chester County 4-H Vege table judging team presented to Chester County the plaque the team won for being the state winning vegetable judging team Robert Powers, Chester Coun ty agricultural agent, accepted the plaque for the county from the team, consisting of the fol lowing 4-H’ers Hosea Latshaw, Spring City; Dale Nafziger, Phoenixville; Karl Strohmaier, Oxford, and William McAllister, Oxford.
